OUR HISTORY
My father enjoys watching, from his balcony, the sunlight falling on the top floor apartment of No.192 in the evenings,” said 47-year-old Ko Hla Min Oo. His father lives across the street from the apartment at No.192 which recently got renovated by Doh Eain.
“The current one I live in used to be a heritage building, however, it was demolished and rebuilt as a modern one,” said Ko Hla Min Oo. “I made a decision that I wouldn’t let No.192 go the same way.”
That’s what led Ko Hla Min Oo to collaborate with Doh Eain to restore his old apartment. Now the newly restored apartment is ready for tenants.
Ko Hla Min Oo, who loves natural light and ventilation, added, “High ceilings are what I like most about heritage buildings in Yangon. You don’t get them in modern apartments.” Also, a father of three young daughters, he is proud that he will be able to pass the apartment down to the daughters in the future.
